Location

The Coral Lake and Beach Resort is located in the Praia de Guajiru, Trairi in Ceara State, just over an hour north of Fortaleza on Brazils north east coast. Trairi is an established town of over 40 thousand residents, predominantly involved in agriculture and fishing but with a growing market in handicrafts, leather goods and the blossoming leisure industries.

The Coral Lake and Beach Resort aims to create a great deal of local employment both during the construction of the project and then through staffing requirements on the completed resort. We are planning to donate 20 litres of paint to the locals so that they may paint their own properties and keep the area looking clean and cared for.

Guajirú -

Praia de Guajirú boasts white dunes and wide sandy beaches surrounded by coconut palms. It is the perfect place for families who enjoy safe bathing, clean beaches and the opportunity to watch the local craftsmen as they magically create beautiful adornment pieces as you wander along the beachfront paseo. Several comfortable pousadas and inns accommodate tourists and a handful of local restaurants offer traditional meals and beverages.

The Guajirú area caters for luxury tourism and offers a pleasant selection of very good restaurants, boutique shops, one or two internet cafes and some lively bars. There is a cosmopolitan feel to the town and you will often overhear, English, German, French and Polish interspersed with the Brazilian Portuguese conversations.

Guajirú is reminiscent of Naples Florida, Cannes France or Marbella Spain some 30 years ago, before they took off as the “in places” to be seen on vacation.

One of the most popular hotels in the area is the Rede Beach Resort http://www.rede-resort.com.br/index_e.php.

Trairi

Trairi is just 3 degrees south of the equator, meaning the climate is excellent with temperatures ranging between 24ºC and 32ºC throughout the year. The local area is famed for its stunning beaches, its glorious year round weather and almost constant prevailing winds from the Atlantic which not only keep the region cool but are also highly favoured by surfers, kite surfers and wind surfers from across the world.

The Trairi area boasts a host of established local restaurants and bars all within a short drive of The Coral Lake and Beach and some even within walking distance. As the area continues to develop, international eateries are starting appear, catering for the differing tastes of the overseas market. The Brazilians are welcoming these new and in many cases strange cuisines and attitudes with the open mindedness that they are famous for.

Flexeiras and Trairi are swiftly becoming sought after tourist destinations by Brazilians from the south of the country, neighbouring Latin American countries and also by international travellers from further afield. Visitors recognise the area as one of natural beauty, reminiscent of the laid back attitude of the Caribbean and investment opportunities to those previously found in Spain, Portugal and even Florida 30-40 years ago - but without the prospect of high rise atrocities.

The Trairi area is a genuine Garden of Eden for those who enjoy adventure sports. Sunny skies during most of the year, miles of shoreline, giant dunes, winds and excellent sea waves compose the perfect canvas for off-road, sand boarding, surf, windsurf and kitesurf competitions which are held throughout the year.

Large dunes and wide palm tree plantations form cinematic landscapes which beckon and delight visitors to the area. Sculpted by the warm Atlantic waters and its offshore prevailing winds, the beaches surrounding Trairi are the ideal location on which to relax and unwind or rev up the adrenalin and go kitesurfing, windsurfing, dune racing and a plethora of other intense sporting activities. With water temperatures of 27ºC on average, it is no wonder that happiness is found on the beaches, soothed by the cooling ocean breeze
